We built Protein Palette to help you reach your health goals — not to collect data about you. Most of your information stays on your device. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. It complies with Swiss data protection law (nDSG) and the EU GDPR.

What We Collect

Information you give us

Without signing in: Nutrition tracking data, profile settings, custom templates, shopping lists. All stays on your device (stored in localStorage).

With cloud sync (opt-in): Email address (or Apple ID via Sign in with Apple) + all app data synced to secure EU servers. Sign in with Apple shares only your name and email (or a private relay address if you choose to hide your email).

AI features (PRO): Meal photos, dietary preferences, health conditions, allergies, body metrics, and goals — processed in real-time, not permanently stored. Some of this data may constitute health-related data under GDPR Article 9. By using AI features, you provide explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR) for processing this data solely to deliver personalized nutrition suggestions.

Collected automatically

Apple Health (optional): Active Energy Burned only, read locally on your device — never leaves your phone.
Rate limiting: IP-based fingerprints stored temporarily (max 24 hours) on Supabase EU servers to prevent API abuse. Not linked to your identity.

What we DON'T collect

No location, contacts, browsing history, advertising IDs, cookies, or tracking pixels.

International transfers to USA are safeguarded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (where applicable) and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as supplementary measures, combined with data minimization. All data processors (Supabase, Anthropic, RevenueCat) are bound by Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) ensuring GDPR-compliant processing.

Apple Health Data

If connected: only Active Energy Burned is read, processed locally on your device, never uploaded, never used for ads, never sold. Disconnect anytime in Settings.

Storage & Security

Local by default — the app uses your browser's localStorage to store your data on your device. No cookies or tracking pixels are used. Cloud sync (opt-in): EU servers, encrypted in transit + at rest, row-level security. The app also uses a service worker to cache assets for offline access. Meal photos: processed in memory, not stored.

Retention

Local data: until you delete the app
Cloud data: until you delete your account (removed within 30 days)
Rate limiting: max 24 hours, never cross-referenced with account data
Meal photos: processed in real-time, not stored on our servers. Anthropic may retain API data for up to 30 days per their retention policy.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and Swiss nDSG, you have the right to:

Access (Art. 15 GDPR) — request a copy of your personal data
Rectification (Art. 16) — correct inaccurate data
Erasure (Art. 17) — delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restriction of processing (Art. 18) — limit how we use your data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email (if you have an account) at least 14 days before taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.

EU Representative

Power of Life Labs GmbH is a Swiss company. As our data processing of EU residents' data is limited in scale and does not involve large-scale processing of special category data as a core activity, we rely on the exemption under GDPR Article 27(2). Wir haben Protein Palette entwickelt, um dir bei deinen Gesundheitszielen zu helfen — nicht um Daten zu sammeln. Die meisten deiner Daten bleiben auf deinem Gerät. Diese Erklärung entspricht dem Schweizer Datenschutzgesetz (nDSG) und der EU-DSGVO.

Was wir erheben

Daten, die du uns gibst

Ohne Anmeldung: Ernährungsdaten, Profileinstellungen, Vorlagen, Einkaufslisten — alles lokal auf deinem Gerät (im localStorage gespeichert).

Mit Cloud-Sync (optional): E-Mail-Adresse (oder Apple-ID über „Mit Apple anmelden") + alle App-Daten auf sichere EU-Server synchronisiert. „Mit Apple anmelden" teilt nur deinen Namen und deine E-Mail-Adresse (oder eine private Relay-Adresse, falls du deine E-Mail verbergen möchtest).

KI-Funktionen (PRO): Mahlzeitfotos, Ernährungspräferenzen, Gesundheitszustände, Allergien, Körpermasse und Ziele — in Echtzeit verarbeitet, nicht dauerhaft gespeichert. Einige dieser Daten können gesundheitsbezogene Daten gemäss Art. 9 DSGVO darstellen. Mit der Nutzung der KI-Funktionen erteilst du deine ausdrückliche Einwilligung (Art. 9(2)(a) DSGVO) zur Verarbeitung dieser Daten ausschliesslich für personalisierte Ernährungsvorschläge.

Automatisch erhoben

Apple Health (optional): Nur Aktive Energie — lokal auf deinem Gerät gelesen, verlässt nie dein Telefon.
Rate-Limiting: IP-basierte Fingerabdrücke, temporär (max. 24 Stunden) auf Supabase EU-Servern gespeichert. Nicht mit deiner Identität verknüpft.

Übermittlungen in die USA sind durch das EU-US Data Privacy Framework (wo anwendbar) und Standardvertragsklauseln (SCCs) als ergänzende Massnahmen, kombiniert mit Datenminimierung, abgesichert. Alle Auftragsverarbeiter (Supabase, Anthropic, RevenueCat) sind durch Auftragsverarbeitungsverträge (AVV) zur DSGVO-konformen Verarbeitung verpflichtet.

Apple Health Daten

Falls verbunden: Nur Aktive Energie wird gelesen, lokal verarbeitet, nie hochgeladen, nie für Werbung genutzt, nie verkauft. Jederzeit trennbar.

Speicherung & Sicherheit

Standardmässig lokal — die App nutzt den localStorage deines Browsers, um Daten auf deinem Gerät zu speichern. Keine Cookies oder Tracking-Pixel. Cloud-Sync (optional): EU-Server, verschlüsselt bei Übertragung und Speicherung, Row-Level-Security. Die App nutzt ausserdem einen Service Worker zum Caching für Offline-Zugriff. Fotos: nur im Speicher während der Analyse.

Aufbewahrung

Lokale Daten: bis du die App löschst
Cloud-Daten: bis zur Kontolöschung (innerhalb von 30 Tagen)
Rate-Limiting: max. 24 Stunden, nie mit Kontodaten verknüpft
Fotos: in Echtzeit verarbeitet, nicht auf unseren Servern gespeichert. Anthropic kann API-Daten bis zu 30 Tage gemäss ihrer Aufbewahrungsrichtlinie speichern.

Deine Rechte

Gemäss DSGVO und Schweizer nDSG hast du folgende Rechte:
